Thanks for Visiting

A bit about me – I’m a Canadian investor and parent living in Eastern Canada. I’ve been fascinated by finance since my teenage years, starting with mutual funds at 16. Over time, my interest grew, and by the time I finished university at 23, I was diving deeper into the stock market and exploring real estate opportunities.

Today, my approach focuses on diversified ETFs and dividend-paying stocks. I’ve chosen to remain anonymous on this platform to openly share my personal journey toward financial independence and early retirement.

Having started investing early, I’ve gradually built a robust portfolio. I launched this blog back in 2006 with a net worth of $200,000, setting an ambitious goal to reach $1 million by age 35. By mid-2014, I hit that milestone ahead of schedule, and I’ve documented the journey with detailed month-to-month updates.

Our Team

As the blog grew, I brought on a few contributors to share insights and perspectives. You’ll notice different voices throughout our archives. Since 2020, the primary authors guiding our content and strategy have been:

Samuel Pelletier

Samuel Pelletier

Samuel Pelletier is a business educator by profession (and soon embarking on an exciting international teaching adventure—more details coming soon) while also serving as a personal finance writer, speaker, and advisor outside the classroom. Samuel has been recognized for his innovative contributions to personal finance education, earning accolades as a leader in curriculum development.

His work has appeared in some of Canada’s most widely read publications, and he is frequently invited to speak on financial topics to audiences ranging from university students to fellow educators.

When he’s not analyzing market ratios or dissecting investment fees, Samuel can usually be found on a basketball court or in a boxing ring, chasing a challenge that keeps him moving.

Recently, Samuel introduced a new online program called “Worry-Free Retirement”, designed to guide Canadians toward greater financial security and help them sidestep the common pitfalls that often derail long-term financial success.
